In New Zealand say that episodes can improve public health, in New York they ban smoking e-cigarettes in public places
Two weeks ago, the New Zealand government issued a statement stating that it has the potential to improve public health. Decadence encourages smokers to try an electronic cigarette to end smoking.
The government of New Zealand has a plan called Smokefree 2025 that provides for a drastic reduction in smokers of conventional cigarettes in the country. It officially spoke as an alternative to smoking and urged smokers to try to stick around as part of the government program. According to the authorities in New Zealand, hanging out may be a significant step towards the quitting of cigarettes of around 550,000 regular smokers in the country.
"Experts confirm that smoking electronic cigarettes is far safer than smoking cigarettes," says the government statement, "but it is not entirely safe. People who have had a great chance of significantly reducing the risks of smoking their health compared to tobacco smokers ".
Totally in the opposite direction yesterday, however, the governor of the State of New York in the United States signed a ban on getting into public places. Late in the night, Governor Andrew Cuomo signed an order that would in fact make ex-smokers no longer able to use electronic cigarettes legally at their workplace, in bars, clubs and restaurants.
These products are marketed as a healthier alternative to cigarettes but the reality is they also carry long-term risks to the health of users and those around them,” the governor said in a prepared statement. “This measure closes another dangerous loophole in the law, creating a stronger, healthier New York for all.”
Here are the main messages in the New Zealand government's statement that encourages smokers to switch to electronic cigarettes:
- Electronic cigarettes are only recommended to smokers who want to quit smoking tobacco cigarettes
- The New Zealand Public Health Ministry recognizes that electronic cigarettes can be effective for tobacco smokers who want to quit smoking cigarettes
- There is no international evidence that electronic cigarettes undermine the long-term decline in smoking among adults and adolescents and can actually contribute to reducing it
If you follow the Esmoker.bg blog, the United Kingdom also included electronic cigarettes for the first time in its video promoting the campaign to quit smoking cigarettes this year.
